A local charity, which has helped support locals in a rural village in Tanzania for nearly half a century, is encouraging people to come and find out more this weekend.

Kenilworth-Uyogo Friendship Link (KUFL) is holding its AGM on Saturday 22 April, in Kenilworth Methodist Church, on Priory Road.

Kit Lawry, chair of KUFL, said: "Do come along if you're interested in how this long-standing Friendship Link between Uyogo, in Tabora Region of Central Tanzania, and Kenilworth has mutually benefited people in Kenilworth and Uyogo for 44 years."

The event will begin at 10.30am and there will be coffee and cakes including Tanzanian mandazis.

The AGM will then start fully at 11.00am.

This short video shows some of the ways people in Kenilworth have worked together with people in Uyogo to improve and enrich each other's lives.

Among other initiatives, the charity has helped raise money to buy bicycles for schoolgirls in Tanzania to help them get to school.
