Trains will run as normal in Kenilworth this weekend as planned strikes have been suspended.

West Midlands Railway (WMR) had cancelled all services on the Nuneaton to Leamington Spa line - through Kenilworth - on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, due to strike action by members of the TSSA trade union.

However, the rail operator has now confirmed the industrial action has been suspended.

The usual timetable will run as normal over the weekend.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at WMR, said: "We are pleased the TSSA has suspended its strike action, which would have been disruptive for our customers.

"We now look forward to running our usual timetable on Friday and Saturday."
