Kenilworth's Tesco has reopened, months after an arson attack forced it to close.

The Leyes Lane shop has been shut following the incident on September 30, during which thieves attempted to break into the outside ATM.

Extensive damage was caused to the supermarket, which has been boarded up ever since.

While Tesco had warned the store may be closed for an extended period of time, it has today (December 18) reopened once again.

The fire came just weeks after the Tesco store had received a major refurbishment.

The fire also caused the neighbouring store - The Bakers Dozen - to close temporarily with smoke damaging much of its stock.

A report presented to Kenilworth Town Council earlier this year by Kenilworth's safer neighbourhood team said the incident could be part of a series of similar attacks across the region.
