The Autumn Festival Trail will return to Kenilworth this October for its second year.

Running between Monday October 25 and Sunday October 31 the trail will see the community decorating their houses and businesses in order to celebrate the autumn season, as well as raise money and provide some fun for local children during half term.

Families, businesses and the wider community are invited to create a seasonal display as part of the trail.

Decorations can be big or small (a decorated window, tree, or front garden) and can draw on any autumn festival. This could be Halloween, harvest, Diwali, or even Día de los Muertos; whatever theme suits you best.

Participants are asked to complete a short online registration form by 11:59pm on Sunday 24 October.

Organisers will then produce a map of all the decorated houses across the town for locals to follow and spot all the fantastic decorations during the half term holidays.

To join the competition, participants are invited to follow this link to register, and invited to donate £5 to participating local schools. Maps will be free to access for all from Monday 25 October with the option to donate if you can.

There is also a competition running as part of the event, for the best displays as voted for by the public.

Prizes have already been donated by the Tree House Bookshop, The Tiltyard, Arbour Nails, Kenilworth Books, Hair by Emma and others. If you own a business, and are able to donate a prize then please do contact the organisers…the more the merrier!

This event however, is as much about inclusivity and community as it is about supporting local schools.

Speaking to Nub News ahead of the event, organisers said: "We wanted an event where we could get primary school PTAs working together.

"We trialled this event last year for the first time, and loved the enthusiasm and support from the community, raising several hundred pounds which was shared across the schools.

"In continuing uncertain times, an event like this provides safe, outdoor fun for the whole community and we hope the folks of Kenilworth will enjoy it again."

There is also a Facebook page that you can follow to get display ideas and to keep up to date with all the latest news about the trail.
