Kenilworth residents have been invited to sign an online book of condolence following the death of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday.

The book, set up by Warwickshire County Council, can also be signed in person at Shire Hall in Warwick.

A copy of the book will be kept in the council archives as well as passing a copy to Buckingham Palace.

Chairman of the council, Cllr Dave Humphreys, will also write to the Royal Family offering the council's condolences.

The council will fly its flags at half-mast as a sign of respect.

The flag at Jubilee House - home to Kenilworth Town Council - will also be lowered and will remain in that position until 8am on the day after the Queen's funeral.

KTC has also encouraged residents who may wish to pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen in Abbey Fields, on the area adjacent to the car park and St Nicholas Church.

Residents can leave flowers or plants, but are asked not to leave them wrapped in paper or plastic or to leave candles.

Those placed outside the designated area will be moved to the official area.

All items will be removed the day after the funeral to be composted, where possible.

St Nicholas Church will also be opening a book of condolence for people to sign, details of which will be published shortly.

St Nicholas Church will be ringing the church bells at 12 noon today, (9 September) as part of a nationwide activity to mark Her Majesty's passing.

The book of condolence can be found here.
