Road closure details have been announced as the Kenilworth Half Marathon returns for 2022.

Organised by Kenilworth Runners, the annual event raises significant amounts of money for charity, with this year's edition hoped to be "back to normal" following the pandemic.

Organisers confirmed yesterday that the race would still go ahead despite the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday (September 8).

A minutes silence will be held before the race and black ribbons will be available for entrants.

Sunday's (September 11) race will see runners complete the 22nd edition of the event starting on Warwick Road.

The route will then take runners to the castle before heading back along Rounds Hill and then Rouncil Lane down to Beausale.

Competitors will do a loop of the village before returning along the same roads back to the finish on Warwick Road by the Clock Tower.

While the race will begin at 9am road closures will be in place from the early hours.
