A Kenilworth pub has revealed plans to renovate its 'neglected' front terrace.
Plans to build a new shelter and redecorate outside the Green Man pub have been submitted to Warwick District Council.
If approved the scheme would see a single-storey extension built by the main entrance of the Warwick Road venue.
The structure would be made of metal with a retractable cream-coloured fabric roof and glazed sliding doors.
The pub also plans to rip up the existing paving and then tile the outdoor space, as well as building a new accessible ramp for the fire escape doors.
New lighting would also be installed outside.
Plans, which were submitted by owners Mitchells and Butlers, said the renovations would "complement and enhance" the outdoor area and "prolong the longevity and use of the space".
"The external space of the building has been left neglected over time as the focus for works has been completed on the building and is needs a general uplift to make better use of the space, tidy up the site and enhance its use, especially given the changing operational needs of the business in the recovery from the recent coronavirus pandemic," the planning application said.
"The proposal works will offer a way to help improve externally, in a relatively minimal way, to enhance the facilities the Green Man offers to the surrounding community."
Adding: "The proposed works seek to ensure the public house will continue to be a vibrant destination, assisting in helping to retain and attract new patrons."
Mitchells and Butler has also submitted a planning application for the Queen and Castle on the other side of town.
But Kenilworth Town Council has criticised the "confusing" plans for the Grade-II listed pub.
