The Cross at Kenilworth has been named as one of the top 100 gastropubs in the Estrella Damm awards this month.

Top prize was snapped up by the Parker's Arms in Clitheroe, while The Cross came in as number 75.

The New Street eatery, which has held a Michelin Star since 2014, was ranked 50th in the list last year.

Top 50 Gastropubs was conceived in 2009 with the purpose of recognising the hardworking individuals in the gastropubs industry.

The list aims to be a go-to source for the best pubs to dine at in the UK and is created by collecting votes from more than 100 industry professionals.

Following the announcement, the Cross took to social media to say: "Thank you Estrella Damm for listing us in the top 100 gastropubs in the UK.

"It’s a pleasure to be recognised alongside so many fantastic chefs and restaurants.

"We look forward to welcoming friends old and new this year."

The award comes just months after The Cross announced its new general manager.

Pawel Skrzypinski took over at The Cross at Kenilworth in September building on his 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

The pub has also recently launched its 'Eureka' cookbook inspired by the success of its 'at home' meal service.

The Cross was also nominated for the Front of House Team category at the Estrella awards, but lost out to Fulham's Brook House.
