Below are the key planning applications in Kenilworth recently received or decided on by Warwick District Council.

Objection to new kitchen and games room

The proposed erection of single storey rear extension to form a new kitchen and games room at a New Street house has been objected to by Warwickshire County Council's ecological services.

The comment said: "A preliminary bat roost assessment is recommended to be carried out prior to determination. The report should also consider other notable species such as, nesting birds / if there are any ponds on site.

"I would recommend deferral of this application until this information is provided. Once this information is received, we will provide further comments."

Phase one of the £44 million development of the new Kenilworth School is now complete.

Early works are now well underway with the site, which was farmland, now completely cleared and levelled and the school's steel frame almost complete.

The works, which started in May 2021, have seen 3,980 tonnes of concrete used to make temporary haul roads, the new tennis and netball courts built and solar-powered 'eco welfare cabins' opened on site.
