Kenilworth planning roundup: Woodside Hotel, 83 homes and new roundabout
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Woodside Houses
Town councillors have objected to plans to replace the Woodside Hotel with 55 homes.
Prior approval has already been given for the hotel to be knocked down, much to the disappointment of locals.
But the detailed scheme to redevelop the site into 43 houses and a block of 12 apartments is yet to be considered by Warwick District Council.
And at the most recent meeting of Kenilworth Town Council's planning committee, members raised a number of concerns about the development.

Developer Doubles Down
A housing developer has launched a legal battle to try and force through plans to build 83 homes on the land around Warwickshire Police's Leek Wootton Headquarters.
CALA Homes first revealed plans to redevelop the land in March 2022, having purchased it from the force the previous December.
With the first planning application still yet to be determined, the developer then submitted a second scheme to Warwick District Council in November 2022.
But with a decision still pending on both applications, CALA has now submitted an appeal to the planning inspectorate to move the process along.

Roundabout and Roadworks
More roadworks look set to hit the Stoneleigh Road after HS2 was given the green light to build a new four-arm roundabout.
Warwickshire County Council is already part way through a £38 million project to install a new bridge and major roundabout at the A46 Stoneleigh, which has seen months of speed restrictions and road closures hit the area.
And that looks set to continue just a few hundred metres down the road after Warwick District Council gave planning permission for HS2 to build a smaller roundabout to the east of the dual carriageway.

New Football Stadium
The new owner of Coventry City Football Club has said he is committed to making the Coventry Building Society Arena the club's long-term home.
Stadium owner Frasers Group plc and Coventry City FC have announced a five-year deal to keep the Championship club at the north Coventry arena, having already penned a deal to keep the side there until the end of this season.
New owner Doug King said he was "delighted" to sign the agreement, adding the club will continue to work to strengthen its "longer term" home at the arena.
The announcement throws into doubt previously announced plans with the University of Warwick to build a new stadium as part of a proposed eco-park on the outskirts of Kenilworth.
