Kenilworth planning roundup: Speedway stadium, new shopfront and school's fields
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Speedway Saga
Fervently contested plans to build houses on a historic motorsport venue to the east of Coventry will be the subject of a planning inquiry in September.
With just four days left of the six months allowed to submit an appeal, Brandon Estates launched its bid to contest Rugby Borough Council's decision to refuse planning permission for 124 homes, a 3G football pitch and pavilion on the site of Coventry Stadium, Rugby Road, located between Binley Woods and Brandon.
The stadium hosted Coventry Bees, one of the country's most iconic speedway clubs, and stock car racing until 2016 with campaigners fighting plans by owners Brandon Estates to turn it into housing ever since.

Shopfront Scheme
A former Christian charity shop in Kenilworth could be given a new look, as plans to remodel the front of the building have been put forward.
Home care company Unique Senior Care - which already has offices in Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Alcester and Knowle - has applied for planning permission to give the shopfront at The Square a new look.
A planning application submitted to Warwick District Council is asking for permission to replace the current wooden frames with a "more modern and energy efficient double glazed aluminium" design.

Playing Field Progress
Work to bring the playing fields back into use at a Kenilworth primary school are now well underway.
A new drainage system is being installed at St Nicholas C of E Primary School, after 12 months of planning for the scheme.
The scheme will mean the playing fields can be used all year round.
