Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

School Expanding

Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has announced plans for a new extension at The Westwood Academy, providing additional teaching space to support the school's growth.

The proposed new two-storey teaching block has been designed to provide modern and inclusive learning spaces for pupils. The extension is set to increase the school's capacity and will include nine new classrooms, group learning spaces, therapy and sensory rooms, staff facilities, accessible amenities and dedicated wellbeing spaces.

The new building will complement the existing school site while introducing a contemporary new entrance for the academy and additional parking. The extension has been designed with 'accessibility at its core,' including lift access to the first floor, accessible toilets and an Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP).

Extension Battle

The owners of a Stoneleigh cottage are battling to keep a new patio and gazebo that were built without planning permission.

Warwick District Council has already refused to grant retrospective approval for the works at The Bank, saying they harm the openness of the green belt.

But now the owners have submitted an appeal to the planning inspectorate in a bid to get the decision overturned.

Catesby Estates is getting ready to submit planning applications for two parcels of land around Rouncil Lane and Warwick Road.

A public consultation has been launched and runs until September 20.
