Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Pub's Refurb Boost

Kenilworth's oldest pub has been handed a planner boost as designs for its refurbishment have been approved.

Everards brewery has been given listed building permission to renovate the Virgins & Castle on High Street, inside and out.

The scheme will see a long list of cosmetic works completed, including updating the fixed seating, retreating the timberwork, redecorating the wine store, refurbishing the staircase and bar area and refitting the accessible bathroom.

Portacabin Plans

A Kenilworth church has asked for permission to keep a portacabin in its grounds to help support its charity work.

St John's Church on Warwick Road has asked Warwick District Council to keep the unit which is used for its work with 'Tools With A Mission'.

Permission was previously granted to use the building in 2021, with the St John's now looking to keep it in use until 2031.

New Housing Estate

Midlands-based homebuilder Spitfire Homes has revealed the first images of its latest collection of new homes on Cromwell Lane in Burton Green.

Named Clarendon, the new development will offer a range of two-to-five-bedroom properties. 

Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, air source heat pumps, and underfloor heating will come as standard for the homes.
