A Kenilworth church has asked for permission to keep a portacabin in its grounds to help support its charity work.

St John's Church on Warwick Road has asked Warwick District Council to keep the unit which is used for its work with 'Tools With A Mission'.

Permission was previously granted to use the building in 2021, with the St John's now looking to keep it in use until 2031.

"The location of the portacabin is behind the old decontamination unit, next to the railway boundary, which is overgrown," the application said.

"It is lower than the flat roofed building and consequently cannot be seen anywhere on or off the site until directly approached.

"The work of refurbishing donated tools is carried out at times when the use of the other church facilities is minimal, so there is little or no impact on the use of the site.

"The self-contained unit is already in position so there would be no adverse effect on the local ecology."
