Kenilworth planning roundup: Hundreds of homes, pub's latest application and extension refused

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Hundreds of Homes
Developers have revealed plans to build hundreds of homes on Knowle's green belt.
The Solihull village is set to grow with developers wanting to build new homes there and now it has emerged a new unnamed applicant has plans to build a new estate of around 250 to 300 homes on current agricultural land off Kenilworth Road.
An outline planning application is yet to be submitted but the initial plans have been published for the homes which would be a mix of market and affordable housing.
Pub's Latest Plans
The saga around a controversial barbecue shed at a Kenilworth pub continues with a fresh application for the structure now submitted.
The Royal Oak has already had an application for the structure - which is already built - refused.
The pub then submitted an appeal which was dismissed by the planning inspectorate.
And now a fresh planning application for the shed has been submitted by Mr & Mrs Warwick ltd.
Extension Refused
An extension to a village home may have to be pulled down after council planners refused a retrospective application for the works.
Plans submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC) show the two-storey side and rear extension were built at the home on Hilltop Close near Fen End between 2019 and 2021.
While the property had been given planning permission for an extension in 2018, what was actually built was bigger than the project agreed.
In fresh plans submitted to WDC the applicant said what had been built was still appropriate for the building.
