HS2 Cutting

Plans for a 1.9km-long cutting for the HS2 line in South Warwickshire have been signed off by the district council.

The high speed rail developer has been given permission for the huge works between Hunningham Road and land to the north of Welsh Road Farm in Offchurch.

Talisman Square

Plans to build a five-storey block of flats in the centre of Kenilworth look set to be given the green light, despite the objections of locals and the town council.

Cobalt Estates has applied for permission to turn Talisman Square car park into 43 flats and two shops, as the "third and final" step in the area's redevelopment.

A report presented ahead of last week's public meeting showed the new leisure centre could cost Warwick District Council (WDC) up to £22.6 million.

The council had originally been quoted £8.5 million for the project, although this estimate had already risen to £12,550,000.
