Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Talisman Square Tussle
The district council has doubled down on its opposition to "obtrusive" and "overly dominant" plans to turn the car park in Talisman Square into a block of flats.
Warwick District Council (WDC) last year refused planning permission for the multi-storey building which would have included 43 flats and two shops.
Developer Cobalt Estate has since appealed the decision, asking a planning inspector to revisit the application.
But now WDC has submitted its case, saying the refusal should be upheld.
HS2 Cutting
HS2 has revealed designs for a major new cutting to be built to the north of Kenilworth.
The high speed rail developer has asked Warwick District Council to sign off on proposals for the 1.3km cutting from Dalehouse Lane to the B4115 in Stoneleigh.
Plans show the cutting will be crossed by the A46 via the new bridge which has already been signed off by the council.
Houses Saga Continues
Detailed plans for 70 new homes in Leek Wootton have been put forward to the district council by developer Cala Homes.
The latest chapter in the saga around Warwickshire Police's headquarters, the homes would be built around Woodcote Lane.
Cala was recently granted outline permission for the development, following a planning appeal.
