Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Kenilworth.
Village school to houses
Two houses will be built on the site of a former village school in Baginton.
A communal peace garden will also be built next to the Grade I listed St John the Baptist Church on Church Road as part of the plans.
Residents had objected to the application but the scheme was given unanimous approval by councillors
Canalside Moorings
Councillors have imposed a number of conditions on 20 canalside moorings to be built near the Black Boy pub.
Warwick District Council members said the landowner would not be allowed to install lights or let people stay in their narrowboats overnight whilst demanding that he clear the mounds of earth on the site.
Speaking at last week's planning meeting the applicant Mr Edward Flaherty said: "The site is disgusting and I am so ashamed."
HS2 Lorries
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has refused to grant permission for 400 HS2 lorries to drive through Balsall Common every day - for the second time.
Having refused a similar application last summer, planners once again blocked HS2 ltd saying the plans were "clearly unsafe".
Cllr Steve Caudwell said: "For HS2 to come back to us and basically ask this council to subordinate the safety of our residents for their poor planning is unacceptable."
