Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

New Homes Plan

"Unhappy" councillors have approved plans to demolish an HMO in Burton Green and to replace it with four new homes.

Warwick District Council's planning committee raised concerns about the application for 'Meadow View' on Hob Lane but felt they could not justify refusing permission.

Residents spoke out against the plans, with neighbour Paul Newsome saying at last week's meeting: "The planning officers believe this is a sustainable development with regard to economic, social and environmental objectives.

"I believe this application fails that standard."

School Sites

Two public information events are to be held next week to provide more information on possible plans to develop the former Kenilworth School site at Leyes Lane.

Homes England has already announced a public consultation on the proposals which could see up to 230 homes built.

The consultation events will be held at The Tiltyard from 3pm to 7pm on Monday 20 October, and at The Kenilworth Centre from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday 23 October.

GTS Motorsport Limited has applied for permission to change the use of the storage building at Brook Farm to open a garage for the restoration of classic cars.

If approved, the Stoneleigh Road scheme would allow the business to move from its current site at Earlswood.
