Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Cycle Path

Kenilworth residents, visitors, and park users are invited to share their views on "exciting new proposals" for Abbey Fields as part of the 'A Path for Our Future' public consultation. 

Warwick District Council (WDC) wants to hear views on the proposed new cycle path for the park.

The consultation - which will run until Wednesday, 12 June 2025 - has been delayed over the past few months.

Specialist School

A new specialist school could be built at a local business park, if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.

Rushcliffe Specialist Schools (Mickleover) Ltd has applied for planning permission for the new facility at Abbey Park in Stoneleigh.

Plans show the Stareton Lane school will cater for pupils "who have Education, Health and Care Plans identifying an autism spectrum as their primary diagnosis".

Pub's Makeover

More details have been revealed for a possible refurb at Kenilworth's oldest pub.

Everards brewery has applied for listed building permission to renovate the Virgins & Castle on High Street.

If approved, the proposals will see a long list of cosmetic works completed inside the popular public house.
