Kenilworth is now the most expensive Warwickshire town to live in, according to new data released by HM Land Registry.

The data uses the average prices of houses sold in each area, across the 12 months leading up to the middle of June.

The last time Nub News looked at this data Kenilworth came second in the list, but has now leapfrogged Henley-in-Arden to return to the top.

According to the Land Registry data, the average sold property price in Kenilworth over the past year was £430,718.

The rest of the top five is made up by Stratford-upon-Avon, Henley-in-Arden, Leamington Spa and Warwick.

The majority of sales in Kenilworth over the past year were detached, with an average price of £682,115.

Semi-detached homes sold for £413,578 on average, with flats fetching £189,627.

Sold prices in Kenilworth were four per cent lower than the previous year.

The average property price across Warwickshire was £310,907.
