Kenilworth has been named as one of the top 50 small towns and cities in the UK by property agents Savills.

The list has been comprised using latest Census data as well as statistics from the Land Registry.

Towns have been ranked based on the socio-economic, educational and health profile of their residents, as well as house prices relative to other settlements in the same region.

Kenilworth is ranked 28th in the list and is the only Warwickshire location to be included. This is a step up from its last ranking of 29th in 2011.

The list is dominated by South East England, with Harpenden topping the list as it did in 2011.

The North West also makes a good showing while Bath flies the flag for the South West.

Only one other town from the Midlands was included in the list. That was West Bridgford in Nottingham which came in at 13th.

This is not the first time Kenilworth has been included in such a roundup.

Last summer an annual list published by the Sunday Times named the town one of the best up-and-coming areas to invest in the UK.
