A professional certified coach based in Warwickshire has been awarded a Coaching Impact Award for her "life-changing work" with spouses of UK Armed Forces personnel.
Tina Smith, coach and founder of Your New Wings, was selected by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in the Social Impact – Emerging Coaching Catalyst category for her "outstanding" work designing the coaching element of the UK Armed Forces Spouse Personal Development Programme.
The programme combines one-to-one and group coaching to help spouses - who are often facing disrupted careers, relocation, and isolation – to rebuild confidence, clarify goals, and create fulfilling futures.
It has enabled participants to rediscover skills, challenge limiting beliefs, and pursue new paths through employment, entrepreneurship, education, or family.
The results have shown "significant measurable gains" in well-being and career satisfaction.
Ms Smith said: "Receiving this award is a tremendous honour.
"Coaching has the power to transform lives, and I'm proud to be recognised for work that empowers people, strengthens organisations, and contributes to thriving communities."
The programme was originally designed as a collaboration between Warwickshire County Council and Your New Wings.
It was initially intended to be delivered face to face to support spouses of Armed Forces personnel in Warwickshire.
Due to Covid, the programme had to be delivered online, and this allowed the offer to be extended to Armed Forces spouses across the country.
Ms Smith said: "We were astonished to receive applications from across the globe where Armed Forces personnel and their families are stationed.
"Spouses from Brunei, Cyprus, the USA, Australia, Kenya, and right across Europe completed the programme."
The programme was supported by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust with promotion from the Army, Naval and RAF Families Federations, along with covenant leads within local authorities and other organisations.
Cllr Edward Harris, Chairman of Warwickshire County Council and Chair of the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Armed Forces Covenant Partnership, said: "Warwickshire has long recognised the disadvantages that all family members of serving personnel or veterans face and fought to address that and create opportunities for them.
"I am really proud that this programme, developed in collaboration with the Armed Forces team at Warwickshire County Council, has gained international recognition.
"That we have been able to reach an international audience is testament to the quality of the programme and the coaching.
