A Kenilworth gin distiller is set to open up about his time in the UK Special Forces at two special events this summer.
East Chase Distillers co-founder Richie Bartle will take guests through a "raw and personal" account of life in the armed forces - over a glass or two of Heritage Gin.
Having started his career in the Royal Marines, Richie then entered the selection process to join the Special Forces at the age of just 22.
Nowadays he runs the new distillery at East Chase Farm with friend and business partner Luke Weetman.
After months of work converting an old barn into a bespoke distillery, the duo began production at the end of 2022.
Now just over six months in, they have already launched a second flavour - Citrus Orange - as well as a range of events.
And tickets of the upcoming ECD Gin, Tonic & Tales evenings - on June 22 and July 8 - are now for sale.
"The evenings will take guests on a journey from Richie's early days in the Royal Marines to embarking on the ruthless selection process required in joining Special Forces," the pair said ahead of the first event.
"Richie will open up about losing friends in both training and combat and conducting night-raids within the Insurgent Mountain strongholds of Afghanistan.
"He will share his experiences in navigating the vast cultural and language barriers while working within foreign units; and overcoming the psychological impact of frontline/behind the line combat.
"And then you will hear more about his decision to finally leave the military, start a family and enter the world of business and entrepreneurship."
Tickets are priced at £75, however if you book now you can purchase at the reduced rate of £50.
Included within the price is a drink on arrival, a drink at the end of the talk and a meat and cheese board to share between two.
There will be table service throughout if you require more drinks or food and you are more than welcome to join us at the bar after the talk - cars can be left on site overnight.
"So, if you are looking for a truly one-of-a-kind gin evening, look no further," they added.
