Kenilworth Fire Station is recruiting

By James Smith 1st Nov 2021

Kenilworth Fire Station is looking for new on-call firefighters to join the team.

On-call firefighters are not usually based at the station they serve, but live within a five minute radius, enabling them to respond to calls quickly.

Successful applicants will receive an annual wage plus additional payments for attending drill nights and incidents.

New recruits will be expected to attend a drill night once a week.

Kenilworth Fire Station has said that applicants must "be aged 18 and over, be a team player, passionate about serving your community."

"We need people who live or work in Kenilworth who can give up their spare time to be available to respond to emergencies within the community.

"We are looking for people who can cover days, nights or weekends.

If you think you'd be able to step up to the challenge visit."

New recruits will receive extensive training of course.

Warwickshire County Council have said "Training is delivered in a number of modules spread out over a firefighters first three years of service – although some on-call firefighters are able to complete the programme more quickly than this."

No exact qualifications are required by applicants, but they will need to satisfy some selection tests.
