A Kenilworth eatery has been named as one of the top 100 gastropubs in the country.

The Cross has once again been featured in the Estrella Damm roundup, coming in at number 79 for 2025.

The list is curated by The Morning Advertiser and since 2009 has celebrated the "hardworking individuals in the gastropub sector".

Of The Cross, the awards said: "One Michelin-starred the Cross at Kenilworth, Warwickshire, boasts some of the very best gastropub food in the UK and has re-entered the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list this year.

"Situated in the historic town of Kenilworth, the Cross operates under chef director Adam Bennett and has held a Michelin star for over six years, along with three AA Rosettes and received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

"Owner Andreas Antona is well respected throughout the culinary world and also owns the Michelin-starred restaurant Simpsons in Birmingham.

The Cross itself is a Grade II listed 19th century inn that has been lovingly restored, retaining heritage while also now showcasing some contemporary touches that make it a splendid venue to enjoy some of the finest cuisine in the region."

The Cross on New Street is no stranger to accolades, having held a Michelin star since 2014.

Following the announcement, The Cross took to social media to say: "We are thrilled to make this year's Estrella Damm Top Gastropubs list.

"Thank you to our customers for your ongoing support and a huge congratulations to our fantastic team - what a wonderful way to start the year!"

The winner of the list has yet to be announced, and will be revealed at an awards ceremony next week.
