A Kenilworth drug dealer has been jailed.

Andrew McAulay, 28, previously from Kenilworth, but currently of Gresley Close, Stratford, was sentenced on Friday (14 May) to three years and nine months in prison.

In June 2019, officers attended a report of a disturbance at a property in Essex Close, Kenilworth. When they arrived there was no answer.

Concerned there might be someone injured inside officers forced entry but the property was empty. However, they did find a quantity of cannabis and cocaine.

Enquiries linked the address to McCauley who returned to the property after being contacted by the officers.

Officers searched him and seized cash and two mobile phones. A search of the car led to drug paraphernalia being seized.

As officers were holding the phone orders for drugs were being sent to it.

McAulay was arrested and after fingerprints linked him to the drugs he was charged and later pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

Officers also found evidence he had been dealing ecstasy and McAulay also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drug.

Investigating officer, PC James Stark, said: "We see all too regularly the damage the supply of drugs does to people's health and the violence it causes on our streets. This illegal enterprise ruins people's lives and impacts upon communities.

"Warwickshire Police will continue to target those dealing drugs and seek to bring them to justice.

"I hope this sentencing serves as a deterrence for anyone else seeking to profit from the terrible trade in drugs and I would encourage any member of the public with information about drug dealing to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
