Kenilworth crime rate hits three year low whilst no suspect is identified in 25% of cases

Nearly a quarter of crimes cases in Kenilworth are closed without a suspect being identified according to the latest data published by police.uk.

In 2021 1,755 crimes were reported in the town.

But with suspects unable to be prosecuted in more than a third of cases, that means more than 60 per cent of crimes in Kenilworth go unpunished.

In the last 12 months more violent and sexual offences were identified than any other at 343 (32.3 per cent), followed by 269 anti-social behaviour reports.

There were also 90 reported cases of criminal damage and arson and there were 74 vehicle crimes identified.

However, in the last quarter of 2021 there were just 232 crimes reported in the town - a three year low.

In 2021 the most crimes were reported in both March and June at 110 respectively.
