Covid-19 infection rates in Kenilworth have more than doubled in the last month, with Kenilworth West having the highest rates in the district.

Two out of three Kenilworth areas are also above the national average.

But there have been no more deaths due to Covid in the last 28 days in the district.

And South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust has only 14 hospitalised patients with Coronavirus - three of whom are on ventilators.

This compares to a high of 130 hospitalisations on January 13 2021.

Official government data shows the rolling seven-day infection rate in Kenilworth West before December 16 as 949.8 per 100,000, compared to 307.7 in mid November.

Similarly Kenilworth East has risen from 295.3 per 100,000 people to 813.3. Whereas Kenilworth South has only jumped from 237.7 to 506.3 per 100,000 in the same period.

After Kenilworth West, Warwick North has the second highest infection rate in the district at 919.7 per 100,000 people.

The national average sits at 777.6 per 100,000.

And up to and including December 20 84.2 per cent of people in Warwick District have had the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, with 78.3 per cent and 54.7 per cent receiving second and booster doses respectively.

A new vaccination hub has also opened at Warwick Hospital this week.
