For one night only this June, a Kenilworth church will host a night of Baroque music and madrigals.

Coventry Cathedral Chorus will head to St Nicholas Church on Saturday, June 17 for the summer concert 'Sing We at Pleasure'.

The event will also help raise funds for The Friends of St Nicholas' and St Barnabas' Churches, Kenilworth.

The Coventry Cathedral Chorus will be singing well-known and much loved Baroque music by Monteverdi, Handel, Purcell and Bach, followed by some light-hearted English madrigals, including Gibbons' The Silver Swan.

The audience will also be treated to Shakespeare Songs by Vaughan Williams, comparing them with the jazzy beats of George Shearing's contemporary settings of Shakespeare's Songs and Sonnets.

Tickets are £20.00 each which includes the concert and wine and canapés during the interval.

Tickets are available via [email protected].
