Kenilworth charity shop closes for refurb
By James Smith 5th Jun 2026
A Kenilworth charity shop has closed for refurbishment works.
Acorns on Warwick Road is currently closed while the works take place.
A sign in the window simply says: "Our shop is temporarily closed for maintenance.
"Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
"If you would like to continue supporting Acorns, your nearest shops are: Canon Park, CV4 7EH and Knowle, B93 OLE."
Acorns is a children's hospice.
The town centre shop has not said when it will reopen.
The website says: "Caring for a child with complex medical needs can place unimaginable demands on a family, both physically and emotionally.
"At Acorns Children's Hospice, we understand that when time is short every moment is precious, which is why, as well as providing specialist palliative care, we help families to make lasting memories.
"We provide a happy homely environment where children can experience all kinds of great activities, meet new friends, or relax and enjoy some quiet time.
"Our experienced, skilled staff take time to understand each child's individual requirements, listening to any concerns and adapting activities according to their needs."
The news comes as the Cancer Research UK shop further down Warwick Road closes, and the Air Ambulance Service prepares to open a store at the former Lloyds Bank in the town centre.
