New charity shop to open at former Kenilworth bank
By James Smith 23rd May 2026
A charity shop has announced it will open at the site of a former Kenilworth bank.
The Air Ambulance Service is set to take over at the former Lloyds on Warwick Road.
Signs in the window say the new store will open on 12 June 2026.
The charity is already recruiting for volunteers.
"Our new shop will be on the Kenilworth high street, near to the clock tower," the Air Ambulance Service said.
"With parking behind the shop and good public transport links, this could be the ideal place for you to volunteer.
"We sell fashion, bric-a-brac, toys, jigsaws, books so plenty of variety to keep you busy.
"If you like chatting to people you can join our friendly team in the shop meeting customers or creating eye catching displays. Or you may prefer to volunteer behind the scenes, sorting donations. Both equally important to keep our helicopter flying.
"And to tempt you even further free tea and coffee is always flowing."
Lloyds shut its local branch in April 2025 as part of a nationwide axing of 45 branches.
Since then the signs on the unit at The Square have been removed and the ATM boarded up.
