A former Kenilworth dessert shop has celebrated its first anniversary since rebranding as a café.

Delightful Desserts on Warwick Road became Milk & Mocha last November after the family-run business found out it could not continue with the former franchise.

Since then the business has continued to serve many of the sweet treats it was well known for, but also added lots more to its range.

No longer bound by the franchise, the business also had a full interior makeover with new furniture and decorations in place.

"We completed our first year as Milk & Mocha and its been a very busy year, we have had lots of fundraisers and raised money for various charities including compassionate Kenilworth," owner Farida Butt told Nub News.

"We have lots of groups during the week, and have made our space accessible and inclusive to all.

"From teaching English to newly arrived, to mums and toddlers.

"Our Over 60's Knit and Natter has been largely welcomed by all, and we have a great group of men and women who visit on a Wednesday."

The business is also supporting Kenilworth & District Soroptimists paint the town orange as they join other organisations for the UN 16 days of activism Against Gender Based Violence

There will be an Orange Café on Saturday 9 December from 10am to 4pm at Milk and Mocha.

Soroptimists will be there wearing orange, ready to chat about the things people can do to make a difference, especially for women and girls, in 2024.

And of course, there will be orange themed cakes available for a small donation.

The group will be raising funds towards the Refuges in Warwickshire as the Christmas period can be an especially difficult time.

Among the many events Milk & Mocha have coming up is a candle making workshop on Tuesday 12 December.

The workshop will be lead by Dodo from Soas-home. Each participant will make two eco-friendly scented candles with a retail value of £32.00. Included are mince pies, hot chocolate and samosas and tickets cost £45.
