The 14-month closure of Dalehouse Lane in Kenilworth for HS2 works is now not expected until early in 2026.

The long awaited roadworks project will allow for a new bridge to be built, carrying the realigned road over the new railway line.

A shorter closure of the nearby A429 Kenilworth Road will take place in August, but councillors said there is still no firm date for the Dalehouse Lane works.

"We are well aware of the history but it is possibly worth pointing out there will be a further four-week closure of the A429 during August," Cllr Adrian Marsh said at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting.

"The Dalehouse Lane closure is still anticipated for 14 months and is likely to take place early in 2026.

"Dates won't be formally announced until September at the earliest and will not be confirmed until closer to the date.

"The HS2 teams working in our area are working hard to minimise the disruption."

Design details for the 50-metre bridge for Dalehouse Lane have already been approved.
