HS2 to install traffic lights at busy crossroads after three-week closure

A busy crossroads is set to be closed for three weeks as HS2 installs permanent four-way traffic lights.

The high speed rail developer has announced that the (B4115) Ashow Road / Birmingham Road crossroads in Stoneleigh will be closed from Monday 15 August.

Closures will be in place 24 hours a day seven days a week until Friday September 2.

HS2 said the traffic lights are needed "due to an increase in traffic".

A fully signed diversion will be in place during the closure.

With a potential increase in traffic over the August Bank Holiday weekend the road will reopen from 6pm Friday 26 August to 8am Tuesday 30 August.  

HS2's workforce will be on site 8am to 6pm daily.

Some night shifts may also be required by HS2 said "these will not be intrusive".

There will be no weekend working and access to properties will be maintained throughout.
