Public footpaths around Kenilworth are set to be closed or disrupted for over a year for HS2 works.

The high speed rail developer said public rights of way (PRoW) W164 and W165x in Crackley will be disrupted until summer 2026.

Both footpaths connect to the Kenilworth Greenway and head north towards Coventry.

An HS2 notice said: "As part of the ongoing works, we need a short diversion on the existing PRoW W164.

"To ensure the safety of the public, while we progress the construction of the railway, PRoW W165x is closed and diverted via the PRoW W164 diversion.

"These closures and diversions will remain in place until the completion of the W164 Overbridge, due to open to the public by the Summer 2026."

W164 has already been diverted by HS2, with plans for the new bridge last year signed off.

Originally HS2 said the new route would be installed in 2024.
