Housing developer buys parcel of land in Burton Green to turn into homes

A housing developer has bout a 4.5 acre plot of land in Burton Green to turn into homes.

William Davis Homes has completed its first land acquisition on the open market for the West Midlands, taking on the plot along Westwood Heath Road.

The scheme will include of 70 homes and is part of the wider Westwood Park development, which will see a total of 425 new houses built.

A statement from the company said: "We're delighted to announce our latest land acquisition at Burton Green in Warwickshire which provides a major step forward in our growth plans in the West Midlands.

"Following a competitive tender process, we've bought a four-and-a-half acre site at Westwood Heath.

"The development will consist of 70 energy efficient new homes comprising of two, three and four-bedroom properties."

Planning permission for the whole 425-house development has already been signed off, with many of the first houses already built buy Crest Nicholson.

Outline permission – backing the principle of housing on the land – and detailed permission for the first 129 homes was granted in 2018.

Warwick District Council's planning committee unanimously gave developer Crest Nicholson the go-ahead for the remaining 296 homes last April.

Group Land Director, Sarah Whetton, added: "This is a fantastic opportunity which complements our land acquisition at Gallows Hill in Warwick and reinforces the growth of our West Midlands region."
