Historic beer festival returning to University of Warwick this February
Another year welcomes the return of the Warwick University Real Ale Festival to the Warwick campus from 13 to 15 February.
Hosted in the Student Union's Copper Rooms, the event will showcase over 70 beers, and 50 ciders, meads, and wines, featuring brewing talent from Warwickshire, across the UK, and worldwide.
The event is the 45th annual charity festival run by what is thought to be the UK's Longest Running Student Beer Society.
Every year, the society ensures that each of the event's 2,500+ attendees find something to their tastes.
This includes; exclusive collaborative brews with local breweries; highly sought after international beers such as Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen; gluten-free and vegan beers to cater to all tastes and dietary requirements.
Food will also be on offer with, German-style Bratwurst and Schnitzel, as well as Vegan and Vegetarian options, available in the venue each night.
On top of all of the food and drinks, the stage will be home to some of the greatest musical talent that Warwick University can offer, as well as up and coming band Midnight Repost headlining Saturday night.
Hardships that have hit the brewing industry in the last few years are certainly not over, but with events like this and student outreach, the society endeavours to do its part in giving our amazing local businesses the attention they deserve and inspire a new generation of real ale lovers.
This year's flagship sponsor is Coventry-based Dhillon's Brewery.
Half of all profits will be donated to Myton Hospices and Evelina Children's Hospital: the rest goes directly back into the society for future events.
"As the excitement starts to build for another festival, I can't help but feel wonderfully grateful to be involved in an event so important to our local community and the history of Warwick University," said Amelia Delves, president of the Warwick University Real Ale Society (WURAS).
"Working alongside fellow students and locals that volunteer such vast amounts of time and effort to our charity causes is so inspiring.
"We are bringing you the absolute best of our community as well as some of the most acclaimed breweries in the world."
Dal Dhillon, CEO of Dhillon's Brewery said: "We're so excited to be supporting WURAS as flagship sponsors on this year's event.
"The student volunteers have a huge amount of passion for our industry – from the brewing process to the community around craft beer – and their commitment to supporting local breweries makes the society something truly special.
"Events like this are the perfect place to showcase our newest batches. You've got live music, a great venue, and almost every kind of beer you can think of - it's a paradise for beer lovers of all stripes."
