Over £1.3 million has been made available for Kenilworth families facing financial worries whilst schools remain closed.

Warwickshire County Council has been allocated funds from the Department for Work and Pensions' Covid Local Support Grant.

Funding will ensure that people who are struggling have the support they need for food, essential items, and utilities.

Money will be given to families eligible for benefits related to free school meals as well as others in need of support whilst schools are closed for summer.

This is the fifth instalment of the grant.

A Warwickshire parent in receipt of help from the scheme said: "The Local Welfare Scheme is offering a brilliant and amazing service, which really helps families like mine."
