Over 50 people gathered at the Senior Citizens' Club last Friday (March 1) to support Rotary Club of Kenilworth president, David Morgan, as he handed cheques to five of Kenilworth's leading causes.

The ceremony concluded the 2023 Kenilworth Advent Calendar project which raised over £15,000 by selling over 3,300 calendars.

The less good news from organisers is that only 72 out of the 120 prizes have been claimed so far.

While the official closing date was 29 February, Rotary said it is "disappointed by the low uptake" so, will entertain later claims.

Calendar holders can still find the winning numbers on the website and if they have got a winner, then let Rotary know by emailing [email protected] and they will deliver the prize to your door.

"This has been a real community effort with local businesses sponsoring the costs and donating prizes and services while local volunteers have been out on the streets selling the advent calendar to help fund local Kenilworth causes," organisers said.

"We are proud of our town!

"The good news is that planning for the Kenilworth Advent Calendar for 2024 is just about to begin.

"We have a new project leader in Rotarian Steve Krikler, who will lead a team of Rotarians and non-Rotarians to produce an even better Advent Calendar to support the needs of Kenilworth. Come and help us! Email [email protected]"
