Full details announced as Kenilworth Carnival returns this weekend
Organisers have announced the full details of the Kenilworth Carnival as it returns to the town this weekend.
And for the first time since 2019 the carnival will feature a parade, after a two-year forced break due to the pandemic.
Floats and walkers will set off from Forrest Road at 1pm on Saturday, 2 July for a tour of the town centre before finishing at the War Memorial at around 3pm.
Road closure details can be found here.
On Saturday afternoon Abbey Fields will host a variety of stalls, live entertainment and even a dinosaur meet and greet opportunity.
Bob Wilson's Funfair will also be available, running from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July.
Day two of carnival Weekend (Sunday 3 July) will see a picnic in the park from 12-5pm, featuring an open mic session hosted by Keynote Audio, along with food stalls and a bar.
Carnival chair, Anne Brough said: "We're really looking forward to Carnival Weekend and are so excited to get the procession back on the road for the first time since 2019.
"We have 12 floats taking part this year, including the town's rugby and football clubs, scouts and brownie groups, St John's School, and Viva Theatre Group.
"We also have one surprise entrant that we are keeping secret until the day and which represents a first for the carnival.
"The weekend is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate whilst raising funds for local charities. We're hoping to generate a real party atmosphere."
All the road closure details for the procession can be found here.
