Community group Friends of Abbey Fields is organising a community nature day for children this weekend.

There are still spaces available for the Nature Day on 25 March - the first Monday of the school holidays.

Suitable for school years two to four, the day will be packed with exploration, knowledge-building, creative activities and fun.

"The Nature Day helps young ones discover more about the natural world around them!" organisers said.

"The event is set in Abbey Fields and led by Jo Harper, who has extensive experience in nature and conservation education."

The cost is £30 for the day (9 am – 4 pm) with an extra fee of £3 for an extension to 5pm.

The base for the day is the Basement Snug, by Abbey Fields.

Friends of Abbey Fields subsidises this event.

Apply online - further details will then be sent to you.
