A car window had to be smashed to rescue a baby at Baddesley Clinton on Saturday (June 10).

Kenilworth fire crews were rushed away from the Grand Show in Abbey Fields to the incident at the National Trust property, where the child had been accidentally locked inside the car.

The child was rescued, unharmed.

A Kenilworth Fire Station statement said: "Just [as] we arrived at Abbey Fields Lions Show we were mobilised to a baby who had become accidentally locked in a car in Baddesley Clinton.

"By breaking a window we gained access to the car and released the child unharmed."

They were later able to return to the Grand Show to talk about community safety and recruitment.

Crews were also called out at 9.28am on Saturday Morning to Queens Close to rescue 'Sparkles' the cat which had been stuck in a tree for three days.
