Find out more about new crossing on busy Kenilworth road

Locals are being given the chance to find out more about a new crossing on a busy Kenilworth road this month.
Kenilworth Town Council has announced an information evening on the new puffin crossing on Castle Road.
The council has been working on the new link to Kenilworth Castle for two years and is progressing with the scheme.
A drop-in session will be held at Kenilworth Castle on 15 October 2026 between 4pm and 8pm to share more information.
Designs for the crossing are almost complete, meanwhile English Heritage is working towards creating the paths which will connect the crossing to the castle itself.
The town council has already approved a £17,000 grant to English Heritage to help with the footpath works. This money is from the council's CIL budget - money taken from local housing developers.
At the most recent town council meeting, councillors also voted to extend the period during which English Heritage can claim the grant.
A public consultation was previously held on the preferred spot for the crossing.
The decided spot was tweaked slightly earlier this year, due to "root protection issues".
The crossing to the castle had been included as a priority in the neighbourhood plan approved in 2018.
