A 'test run' event for Kenilworth's new repair café will be held on Saturday, August 21 at Abbey Hill United Reformed Church.
The café will provide an opportunity for householders to get their broken items repaired whilst learning how to do it themselves in the future.
Similar cafés have already been started in Coventry, Leamington, Rugby and Southam, with funding for a Kenilworth branch announced by Warwickshire County Council announced last month.
The café will receive up to £5,000 from the council's Green Shoots Community Climate Change Fund.
Should the test run go well, the Kenilworth Repair Café will meet at the same church on the third Saturday of every month between 2pm and 5pm.
The idea of a Kenilworth group has been in the planning since 2019, but has been significantly delayed due to the pandemic.
An initial opening date for April 18 had been announced, but was delayed as lockdown restrictions remained in place.
A statement on the group's website said: "We have a number of measures in place to try and keep everyone safe, but hopefully you'll appreciate that every single thing is new - we've never had a day open to the public, we've never trialled the Covid safety measures, none of us have worked together before, at least not in this respect.
"You're very welcome to come and join us, and if you see something that you think should be different (with particular regard to the Covid measures), please let us know.
"You're sharing our journey, from start to who knows where."
