Roads around a local beauty spot could be closed for an 18-month trial, Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has confirmed.

The local authority is considering shutting The Causeway (the three roads around the lakes comprising the end of Malthouse Lane and Valley Road) at Earlswood Lakes.

Currently it serves as a single-lane road, and can "create conflicts between vehicles, pedestrians, anglers, equestrians and cyclists".

The council is considering an 18‑month trial closure of The Causeway to general traffic.

WCC said this will turn it into a "safer, quieter route" for people using Earlswood Lakes, while "maintaining emergency and essential access through controlled arrangements".

Local views are being sought before a decision is made.

The deadline for feedback is June 14.
