The leaders of Warwick and Stratford District Councils have urged residents to share their views on plans to merge the two councils.

Proposals could see a new 'super' council form for the whole of South Warwickshire.

There are just two weeks left to respond to the public consultation where residents can have their say on the new council.

The new council could see financial savings but could also reduce residents' political influence as each councillor would be responsible for a much larger ward.

Leader of WDC Cllr Andrew Day said it was vital for that residents give the council feedback on services could be improved.

"Council services touch all our lives in many ways, so it matters that we get them right," he said.

"These are challenging times, that offer an opportunity to renew and update local government across south Warwickshire.

"We are focused on meeting the changing needs of communities today, to take practical steps to address the local impact of climate change and to foster new business growth.

"To do this effectively, we need to hear from our residents, community groups and businesses so we know what's really important."

The questionnaire can be found online here.
