Contractors are back to working five days a week on Glasshouse Lane, as works to put new safety measures in place continue.

CR Reynolds - the scheme's contractor - had been working seven days a week to get the most important safety measures in place for the opening of the new Kenilworth School at the start of the month.

So far, the new traffic lights and crossings on the busy road have been installed and the road has been widened in places and resurfaced.

New speed limit signs are now in place, with motorists now having to drive at 20mph around the school.

New speed bumps are expected to be built soon.

Works on the Leyes Lane/Dencer Drive cycle and footpath are not expected to be completed until October 6.

The new toucan crossing on Dencer Drive will not be built until next month.

Warwickshire County Council is also working with the neighbouring housing developers to complete their roadworks at the same time.

However, Vistry Homes is due to build a new roundabout at the Stanfield Grove junction which will not be started until after the school works are complete.

This is expected to be finished in spring 2024.

Keep up to date with the works here.
