Contractors are working on site every day of the week to make sure the works on Glasshouse Lane are completed as soon as possible.
Contractor CR Reynolds started on site in April and it will eventually install new cycle lanes, toucan crossings and a 20mph zone on the road outside the new Kenilworth School.
The latest update released by Warwickshire County Council said the speed cushions and speed limit changes are not expected to be introduced until week beginning 18 September.
This is "so that the complete legal processes can be completed".
Temporary signs have been installed before the school opens at the start of September.
The contractor is currently working on the east side of Glasshouse Lane widening the existing road and installing drainage.
Traffic lines on Glasshouse Lane continue to be in full time use.
"Our primary focus will always be working with all parties to facilitate the schools opening on time," the update added.
