'Community banker' to visit Kenilworth after Lloyds closure
Lloyds has said a 'community banker' will visit Kenilworth on a regular basis, once the town's branch has closed.
The high street bank announced yesterday (June 28) it would be closing its site at The Square in February 2025.
The company has blamed dwindling customer numbers, saying just 511 customers visit in person on a monthly basis.
Instead a 'community banker' will come to Kenilworth once a week.
"After the branch closes, our community banker will be available to support you in the local area one day a week," Lloyds said.
"We'll update our website with details of the days and times they will visit, nearer to the branch closure date."
Community bankers will help with:
- Card and PIN services
- Managing your account
- Help with Internet Banking or our Mobile Banking app
- Help with Telephone Banking
- Payments and transfers.
Explaining the decision to close the Kenilworth branch, Lloyds said: "Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.
"Most customers are now using our Mobile Banking app, Internet Banking or calling us instead.
"This means they are using branches, including our Kenilworth branch much less.
"Because of this, we'll be closing our Kenilworth branch."
Halifax, HSBC and Barclays have all also closed their local branches.
